Automatically identifies intersections between line geometries and creates polygons (closed polylines) from the resulting closed shapes. This powerful tool is ideal for converting complex line networks–such as cadastral boundaries, city blocks, or infrastructure layouts–into practical and editable polygon features. It simplifies the transition from line-based data to area-based geometries.

Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD, and GstarCAD.

1. Select unconnected lines or polylines

  • Select or draw the lines or polylines that will form the polygons.
  • They can be unconnected, overlapping or intersecting.
  • The process will identify the intersections and create new segments. From these segments, the polygons will be created.

2. Run SPMPOLYGONIZE command

  • Type SPMPOLYGONIZE in the command line and press Enter or search for the tool in the ribbon or toolbar.
  • Select the polygons manually or using one of the selection tools (query, data table or layer).
  • Adjacent or overlapping polygons will be merged into a single polygon.

3. Review generated polygons

  • The resulting polygons can be created as borders (closed polylines) or native MPolygons, and can also be filled with hatches.

Note: Some features are available only in the Standard or Professional editions.
