Divides geometries that intersect a specified line, effectively splitting them at the points of intersection. This tool is valuable for editing or preparing data for subsequent processes that require segmented features, such as network analysis, land parcel subdivision or infrastructure design.
Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and GstarCAD.
1. Run SPMBREAK command
- Type SPMBREAK in the command line and press Enter or search for the tool in the ribbon or toolbar.
- If the object has associated data, the resulting objects will retain it.
2. Select polygons for break
- Select the polygons manually or using one of the selection tools (query, data table or layer).
- Draw the breaking line or polyline. The selected geometries will be divided at the intersection points with the breaking line.
3. Also break with existing polylines
- If you have existing polylines that you want to use as breaking lines, select the option to use them instead of drawing a new line.
- The shapes will be divided along the selected breaking polyline.
Note: Some features are available only in the Standard or Professional editions.
