Merges overlapping or neighboring polygons (closed polylines) into a single unified shape. This tool streamlines complex datasets by eliminating internal boundaries and joining connected areas. It is particularly useful for consolidating features like buildings into blocks, land parcels, administrative regions, etc. If the polygons have associated data, the resulting polygon will inherit the common data from the original polygons.
Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD, GstarCAD and Desktop.
1. Run SPMPOLYGONUNION command
- If the objects have associated data, review it in the grid (SPMDATATABLEGRID command) before running the tool; the resulting objects will retain the common data.
- Type SPMPOLYGONUNION in the command line and press Enter or search for the tool in the ribbon or toolbar.
2. Select polygons for union
- Select the polygons manually or using one of the selection tools (query, data table or layer).
- Adjacent or overlapping polygons will be merged into a single polygon.
3. Resulting polygons preserve the common data
- If the polygons have associated data, the resulting polygon will inherit the common data from the original polygons.
Note: Some features are available only in the Standard or Professional editions.
