Splits a polygon or closed polyline into a specified number of equidistant stripes (equal width bands) aligned with a chosen direction. Each stripe has the same width measured perpendicular to the stripe direction (areas may differ if the shape is irregular). Useful for creating uniform spacing for planning, allocation grids, phased development strips, or visual segmentation.

Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and GstarCAD

1. Run SPMDIVIDEPOLYGON command

  • Type SPMDIVIDEPOLYGON in the command line and press Enter or search for the tool in the ribbon or toolbar.

2. Select polygons or closed polylines

  • Select the polygons or closed polylines to divide, either manually, by layer, or using a data query.

3. Select or draw a line for the division direction

  • The division will be made parallel to this line.

4. Set distance for slicing

  • Select “Equidistant strip slicing” and enter the desired distance.
  • Alternatively, you can divide by number of parts or by custom areas or percentages.

5. Review the distances

  • The selected polygons or closed polylines are divided into the specified number of equal width stripes, aligned with the chosen direction.
  • Repeat if further subdivisions are needed, and combine with other division methods as required.
