Divides any selected polygon or closed polyline into sequential slices whose areas you explicitly define (absolute values) or express as percentages of the original. You first indicate the orientation by picking or drawing a reference line; the tool then generates cuts parallel to that reference, calculating each segment so it matches the requested target area before proceeding to the next. Ideal for parcel allocation, phased development, proportional zoning, or any case where equal parts are not suitable. Preserves the original boundary, documents each allocated area, and lets you mix fixed areas and percentages in one pass.

Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and GstarCAD

1. Run SPMDIVIDEPOLYGON command

  • Type SPMDIVIDEPOLYGON in the command line and press Enter or search for the tool in the ribbon or toolbar.

2. Select polygons or closed polylines

  • Select the polygons or closed polylines to divide, either manually, by layer, or using a data query.

3. Select or draw a line for the division direction

  • The division will be made parallel to this line.

4. Set the fixed areas or percentages

  • Select “Custom areas or percentages”.
  • Add the desired fixed areas in drawing units or percentages in the list.
  • Alternatively, you can divide by a defined number of parts or equidistant stripes.

5. Review the areas

  • The selected polygons or closed polylines are divided into the specified number of parts. If they do not fully cover the area, an additional part will be created with the remaining area.
  • Repeat if further subdivisions are needed, and combine with other division methods as required.
