Easily create a map book based on object data. A map book is a set of layouts where the viewports are adjusted automatically to the envelope of the objects grouped by specific values in their object data. It is usually used to print or share planning or design projects.
Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and GstarCAD.
1. Run SPMMAPBOOK command
- Click “Map Books” from the Spatial Manager ribbon or run the SPMMAPBOOK command.
2. Select objects
- Select the “Selection/Data driven map book” option from the dropdown list.
- Select objects by layer, by table, or by running a query on data field values.
3. Select template and options
- Choose one of the existing layouts for use as a template.
- By default, the largest viewport from the layout will be selected, but you can choose another manually.
- Choose the zoom mode to fit around the selected objects, apply a margin, or center without changing the scale.
4. Advanced data options
- In the Advanced options group, set “Sheet arrangement by data” and select the data field by which each layout will be created. Also select whether you want to group objects with the same value and choose the sort direction.
- Optionally select a text object in the layout where the field value will be written, and choose whether you want to set a global view in another viewport of the layout.
5. Review created layouts
- A new layout is created for each value in the selected objects’ field.
