Creates one continuous polyline from several existing ones. If the polylines are not directly connected, the application can merge them automatically by considering their proximity. This functionality also supports grouping and aggregating polylines according to a chosen field value, providing a practical method to structure and simplify complex line geometries.
Available for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and GstarCAD
1. Aggregate polylines
- Join multiple lines or polylines at their coincident vertices. A new polyline will be created when the start or end of a polyline matches the same position of the start or end of another polyline.
- Run SPMAGGREGATELINE command
- Select the polylines to join
- Clear the option “Add segments to complete polylines” so that aggregation occurs only when vertices match exactly.
2. Aggregate polylines adding missing segments
- If the vertices are not in the same position, or it is required to add some missing segments, repeat the process and check “Add segments to complete polylines”
- In this case, new segments will be created to fill the gaps between the nearest polyline vertices.
3. Aggregate polylines grouping by data
- If you need to perform an advanced process, it is also possible to use attached data to identify which polylines must be merged into one.
- In the options select “Group by field value” and select the field used for grouping polylines.
Note: Some functionalities can be found in the Standard or Professional editions only
